These are small-scale, structured and friendly family classes suitable for children aged from 2-6 years, with or without a SEND diagnosis, and their parents/carers who would like to participate in a class without the overwhelm and pressure that often comes with large community-run classes. We provide a welcoming and understanding environment and provide lots of opportunities for you and your child to communicate musically, sharing in fun musical people games that promote listening, joint attention, interaction and speech and language skills. We understand that each child has a preferred learning style and an individual sensory profile, and we aim to provide a safe space where this can be explored. We use Music-Play and SLT strategies in our classes to support early communication. Families may join us independently or through sign-posting by health visitors. Children are welcome with or without an official diagnosis. This class requires parents to actively participate in the activities with their child, in a way that works for them.
